Request for Applications for Community Gardens
Time & Tide Resource Conservation and Development Area offering opportunity to establish community gardens in six county area.
Augusta, ME, April 29, 2015– Time & Tide Resource Conservation and Development Area is announcing the opportunity for communities to start local gardens. One group/ school from each county, Androscoggin, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, and Waldo, will be selected based on applications to receive $250 to assist in getting materials to help establish their garden with the opportunity to apply for continuation funds following the successful implementation.
Time & Tide is an organization committed to fostering understanding and appreciation of Maine’s farms and food producers. Hunger and food shortages are a growing problem to Mainers. Time & Tide RC&D is aware that residents want to help, but are unclear as to how. Here is your chance with a community garden.
Applications must be received by May 10 and recipients will be notified by May 28.
